THE PROJECT
Google Tilt Brush is the virtual reality app we are currently using in Digital Drawing. This software has proved to be successful for our assignments, but researching alternatives is necessary to continue expanding the curriculum to create the Advanced Digital Drawing class. Gravity Sketch is a 3D modeling program that is available for IOS and as a virtual reality app. Professor Brar tasked me and the other intern, Connor Sullivan, with exploring this software.

The videos on this page showcase the tests Connor and I conducted with Gravity Sketch. I created drawings on the Gravity Sketch iPad app while he drew on the Oculus Quest headset. We discovered that there is an extremely useful workflow between the iPad and virtual reality apps that is not available in Tilt Brush.
INTERNSHIP GOALS
This project helped expand my knowledge of the virtual reality industry by giving me experience with a new program. After testing this program, I am fairly convinced that it does not apply to any of the current projects we have created for Digital Drawing. All of our projects rely on freehand drawing which I find difficult and cumbersome to do in Gravity Sketch. However, I believe this software could absolutely be used for a new assignment in the Advance Digital Drawing class. Connor will be conducting more research on this software throughout the rest of his internship which will inform the whole team on the software's ability to integrate with our curriculum goals.
