THE PROJECT
For this project, I translated an artwork I made in augmented reality in Adobe Aero into the 3D modeling program Google Sketchup. When Professor Allard and I presented the Aero project to our class, we quickly encountered a bug that would not allow us to import images without the app crashing. This bug made continuing with this project impossible.
We quickly transformed this augmented reality project into a 3D modeling assignment so that we could continue teaching the Digital Drawing curriculum. The assignment asks students to take a photographic digital drawing they made earlier in the class and deconstruct it visually to create an altered conceptual meaning. I took the piece I originally made in Adobe Aero that deconstructed the drawing pictured below and recreated it in Google Sketchup as an example for student reference.

INTERNSHIP GOALS
This project allowed me to increase my skills in Google Sketchup and gave me irreplaceable experience on how to teach in a constantly changing environment. Professor Allard and I were forced to come up with an entirely different software for students to use for this assignment and prepare instructional materials for this new project in just a few days. I knew that I could not expect students to complete this assignment in Google Sketchup without any references, so I created my version of the project the night we decided to use this new software. Having to come up with a new variation of a project in a very short time frame was definitely stressful, but it increased the flexibility of my instruction and project creation skills.
